Nice, But Deep Side Ridges By J. Rew
It's hard to tell by the images, but this ring has a relatively high side profile. The center carbon fiber section is lower than the sides, so there are ridges formed that can be uncomfortable unless you're used to larger rings. I don't wear this ring every day since the side ridges can bother my hand after a long day. Instead, I wear it for certain occasions like going out for the evening. The carbon fiber section is very thin and only one layer. That means that you can see the titanium color through the weave in some small areas. I was hoping that the carbon fiber weave would be tighter or multi-layered so that you get a deeper looking carbon black look, but that kind of construction apparently costs a lot more. The titanium is nice, but it's not super high quality (obvious by the price) so it can scratch and scuff if you're not careful. After a few months, my ring has a couple small scuffs but still looks nice and doesn't need to be repaired or replaced. The carbon fiber section is still flawless, however, since it's recessed and the resin is smooth and durable.
Pros:
- Carbon fiber and titanium were made to go together. Great combination of materials.
- Brushed finish looks nice and hides scratches pretty well.
Cons:
- Sides are very high profile, so can be uncomfortable to wear in certain situations.
- Carbon fiber section is recessed, making slightly sharp side edges.
- Carbon fiber is not a very tight weave, so titanium can sometime be seen through the middle section.
Overall, I'm happy with this ring since the price was so low. It makes for a very casual ring that you can wear whenever you want and not worry about scratching it. If I buy a ring like this in the future, I'd look for a deeper, tighter carbon fiber weave (I think it looks nicer) as well as a smaller side profile (more comfortable to wear every day).Perfect for my husband By Karla Jo Price
This ring was exactly what my husband wanted. It is inexpensive and for a carpenter, exactly what he needed. It can easily be replaced if need be.
