I was at Zales to buy a work ring as not to ruin my Gold Wedding band. And Zales was charging me $149, so while I was waiting for them to charge me I went on line with Iphone to Amazon and found same ring for $20. I recieved the Ring and it was the Same Ring as Zales. I am extremely happy that I caugth Zales ripping me off.Saved My Marriage! By RTF
Ok, the title is a bit dramatic. My wife purchased this ring for after I managed to lose my original wedding band. This ring is a suitable replacement in look to the original 14k white gold ring and hundreds of dollars cheaper to boot!7 of 7 Great ring, could use better packaging By Jason G. Merritt
I ended up having to order this ring twice. The first time I over-estimated my ring size. The packaging was great the first time, came in an oversize box with padding, and was kept in a velvet bag inside of a plastic bag. The second time it was shipped in a bubble-wrap envelope and the ring was in a plastic bag (no velvet bag this time). The refund of the first ring went well through Amazon however, so I'm not complaining.
The ring itself has a decent amount of weight to it (as one should expect with tungsten carbide), is completely smooth and polished to a high shine on both the inside and outside of the band (and sides too), and fits great. Very satisfied, and product was just as advertised.
Word of warning for those who haven't done their research: Tungsten carbide is a metal, but it essentially acts like a hard ceramic. On the positive side, this means it's extremely scratch-resistant and dent-proof. On the downside, this means that given enough stress, the material can break. Another minor drawback: it cannot be re-sized once made (though they're cheap to replace).
Caution!! Inscribing tungsten carbide will create a weak point in the material which can cause it to break more easily! Do not get these inscribed!
