The actual ring is surprisingly very close to what is displayed in the photo (detail wise). The only difference is that the actual band part of the ring is not polished/finished so BRIGHTLY like it's in the photo. But I think it looks better that way. Almost a vintage look. The amber part though.. is dark and not bright yellow-orange like it is in the photo, and may appear really busy or specked because of whatever is inside the amber. Also, the swirls on the band part of the ring has details that cannot be seen in the photo. The swirls have a rope-like texture on each strand. The ring appears sturdy, despite it looking delicate with all the details. The amber protrudes about.. half a cm from the band. So don't expect the amber to be flat.
Aside from comparing the ring to the photo, it is a excellent and wonderful item! It really is beautiful. I do wish the amber was brighter, but that's just the nature of the stone..Very Pleased By jessr
