Well actually he's my fiance, and he loves the ring! As a matter of fact he refused to take it off! (Isn't that bad luck or something?) the actual ring isn't black like the picture makes it look, it's more of a blackish-silver and the design, depending on the light looks like anything from bronze to silver to gold.
