I bought this ring late 2011. At first, I had no complaints. It was a nice, inexpensive ring. After a while the black began to fade to a very muted light black nearing gray. A couple of weeks ago i accidentally dropped it from about 4 1/2 feet, waist hight for me, it hit the tile floor and broke in half. The core appears to be some sort of synthetic or ceramic blend, not metal. But hey, what do I know, maybe tungsten is very brittle? I bought this ring as a "work" ring because my job(s) are very rough on my hands and I did not want to scratch my original yellow gold ring. This ring is really inexpensive and I have had it over a year now. I have been testing this ring for all its worth and it has not had one scratch on it yet and not even close to breaking.
