A candid review of a PERFECT ring. By spydrshred
This ring is perfect. Let me start off by saying that, like one of the other reviews says, it is a bit darker than the picture. For those of you shopping around, like I did, Tungsten Carbide seems to come in about 3 colors; Silver, Gunmetal, and Black (each progressilvey darker). This one is the GUNMETAL color. I was happy to read the review that clarified which this ring was since gunmetal was the color I wanted.
I'll spare you the description of the details of tungsten carbide rings (scratch resistant, can't be resized, etc), since I assume most of you are doing your research or already know, and stick to the quality of the ring.
When I started looking for a wedding band, I knew I wanted tungsten carbide. I began looking online for prices and styles. I started looking at some of the larger jewelry stores online, found this style and loved it, as did my fiance. Prices seemed to range from $300 to $350, not bad for a wedding ring I thought, at first glance. Next I searched Amazon and found this ring, for $14.99. About 1/20th the cost for those calculating. I was surprised, and skeptical, to say the least. I know jewelry stores are out to make money, but that kind of markup, I couldn't beleive.
Before committing to buy anything I wanted to see some of these rings in person. So my fiance and I went to some of the Jewelry stores in our area to check them out. As I suspected, they all had pretty much the same rings, and the prices were like the websites, $300 to $350. Some places even had it as high as $450 and $500. Absurd for an industrial metal that is 50% carbon. And I am talking this exact style, no diamonds or anything of that sort. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything that day.
Still feeling like there was something I was missing, we figured, hey, its worth a shot, and a $15 risk is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Still a bit skeptical, we ordered this ring and crossed our fingers.
When it arrived, we were thrilled. This ring is exactly, EXACTLY, the same as the rings I was looking at with $300 price tags. Perfect in every way.
If you are reading this review, and are skeptical like I was, order it. You will not be disappointed.
On a side note, with the money I saved by purchasing this ring, I got a fantastic Bulova Diamond watch to wear on my wedding day (Also on Amazon, and for 1/2 the price of the jewelry stores). I noticed this morning that my ring had a crack clean through the entire width. This afternoon I managed to drop it on my tile floor and a sizeable chunk broke off where it is cracked. Considering the price, I'm not too upset and actually just ordered a replacement tungsten ring (from a different seller...)

First off, this ring gets a perfect score from me for being exactly what I expected.
Now, what you should expect:
- The polished portion doesn't scratch. The brushed portion does. Not easily, but it does.
- Like others have said, the ring is darker than pictured. It's closer to grey than silver.
- Very heavy, and very comfortable.
- Best comfort fit band I have ever worn.
- True to size. I wear a 12. I ordered a 12. It fits perfectly.
This is a great ring if you know what to expect. Do a bit of research, but for under $20 you can't go wrong.Amazed at Product for the Price By Amazed
I was skeptical on ordering such a cheap ring online, however, my fiance wanted to me get one cheap online rather than pay hundreds at the jewlery store. Very Fast delivery. When I opened the box and held the ring, I was suprised by how heavy it actually was. It is identical to the one I looked at, at kays. It is the same exact look and weight. I recommend this product to everyone. You can not beat it for the price. It does not look cheap at all.
