My husband (then fiancé) and I read the reviews before buying this ring... We were both worried about the ring scratching or fading and losing the black coating - since the color was the reason he wanted it, but figured even if it only lasted a couple months, the price was worth it. We just needed something for our wedding ceremony and he was NOT interested in spending $250-300 for the same ring at our local jewelry store... We got married a couple months ago, he wears this ring everyday, even at work (and he does work with his hands rigging safety equipment) and it still looks really good. It is shiny, black, heavy and sturdy metal. Based on the other reviews it may fade over time, but you cannot beat the price. I wonder if the $250-300 one at the store fades as well (?) it's just a black coating, so I would assume it could. I would recommend this ring, just keep in mind that you aren't going to pay this price for something that is meant to last a lifetime...but if you want a nice ring, my husband really loves it and no signs of wear yet :)2 of 2 Great Ring for this price By Susana Fajardo
